We decided to take the extra hour from Austin and head down to San Antonio for one night. It was a great idea! San Antonio is like Texas’s Mexico (at least in my mind). We stayed right on the Riverwalk and only 3 blocks away from the Alamo. Visiting the Alamo was very interesting and San Antonio sure is beautiful! It was great just to walk everywhere and shop or eat or just sit and enjoy your surroundings. The Riverwalk is nothing like I have ever seen, with beautiful plants, flowers, creative architexture and fun restaurants, bars and a few shops along the way. We even went swimming and used the wonderful new toys that the boys got in Austin. We fit as much as we could in the day that we arrived as possible; the Alamo, Riverwalk Plaza and the Mercado on Market street. Unfortunately, I had forgot to take either of my cameras (BAD SCRAPBOOKER!! I KNOW). So I had to purchase a disposable camera and you will be surprised to know that I have already turned it in to get processed and should have actual photos back tomorrow. I will upload a slide-show then. If you ever get a chance to visit San Antonio I say go….. but no more that a few days. Unless you are going to shop and visit Schlitterbahn in San Marcos too.
The outlet mall there is huge and boy could I spend a ton of money there if Steve allowed it.

Visiting Family

It was nice to visit Austin to see Steve’s sister Nancy and family. My nephews (Conner & Jordan) and boys had a great time playing. Conner sure is turning into an adult and even sits at the adult table! lol. The weather and vegatation sure is different in central Texas compared to north Texas. I didn’t mind the humidity at all although I think my sinuses might because I have been having monsterous headaches down here. It was a nice weekend and we had fun “keeping Austin weird” by visiting local shops and eateries. I must say that I saw many wonderful boutiques and clothing stores that caught my eye for next time. I was able to purchase some items from one called Strut. The kids and I enjoyed playing in a local toy store. It was an educational toy store with so many different fun things to buy. I really wanted to get a perfume making kit but neither of my boys would go for it. We did end up getting a great pool toy for each boy and another puzzle for Caeden and I to put together. Thank you Nancy and Greg for letting us take over your weekend and being so hospitable. It was a great time.

Six Flags here we Come!!

On Good Friday the kids and I went to Six Flags over Texas during their spring break. The boys have been very patient and somewhat well-behaved while I was working outside and in. We had so much fun but there were so many people! It was very crowded to say the least. They even opened up an hour early and stayed open an hour late just because of the huge crowds. Caeden is still too small to ride most of the “good” rides gut we managed to find some that were fun. He was finally able to ride a roller coaster and boy did he crack me up with his antics. Adrian was just happy to ride a “real” ride. All in all it was a good day. I wish I had pictures to show, but I deleted them accidently along with some other great pictures from my old camera. Boy am I a wreck now!!
UPDATE: See post about getting them back! I found my pictures, not all was lost.

Caeden was promised a Guinea Pig as a Christmas gift however he had to wait until we had moved to Texas. He was a very patient boy! Finally the time came when we were ready for his new pet. We found Mitchy at the local Pet Smart and it was love at first sight. Caeden picked him out and held him without looking back. Since then they have become the best of friends and Mitchy is a joy to have as part of the family. In case you didn’t notice Caeden named his new friend Mitchy because of his dear best friend Mitchell from Colorado who is missed dearly.
